Erbil International Airport in the Kurdistan region of Iraq has installed a DAMM base station to facilitate its communications effort.
According to the company, the BS421 outdoor device is designed to be easy to integrate, while also possessing an IP65 rating. It was chosen by the airport to provide a "redundant communication system", for both itself and its customers.
The system was installed by Sabaaco, whose deputy CEO Mustafa Al Mukhtar said: “The easiness of integration with the existing TETRA system saves both time and costs. In addition, OPEX costs are saved due to the power efficiency.”
Khaled A Karim, business development director of DAMM said: "We strive to continue our success in Kurdistan Iraq, providing secure, reliable critical voice and data communication solutions for both governmental and none governmental entities. They are in a need for a resilient solution in a time of increasing security threats."
